GOLF TIPS

FROM CHUCK McCLOONE

Becoming a Better Lag Putter

If you have ever played in Florida during the winter time you have realized the grass is a little different then in the summertime. This is because of over seeding. Bermuda grass goes dormant and rye grass is planted in its place.  So how do you adjust to chipping off of rye grass? The best way to adjust is to take a club with more bounce.  So instead of hitting your chip shot with a sand wedge use a gap wedge or pitching wedge.  Play the ball back in your stance and strike down firmly. This will enable you to avoid hitting the ball heavy. Be sure to adjust your

back-swing because you are using a club with less loft, so the ball will roll out more.
